The objective of this project was to design an addition to an existing structure using original architecture. By reviewing the various systems of the original structure, we implemented new designs that would "fit" with the original house. The model used was "Smith House", designed by Richard Meier in 1965, located on the Long Island Sound, and will now be revitalized into a new renovation

NARRATIVE

The Anderson family enjoys the ingenuity and change in the electronic world. The head of the family Mark Anderson, owns a revolutionary I.T. company, specializing in A.I and innovative transportation systems. The wife, Vanessa, specializes in biology and neuroscience, studying animals and incorporating their survival adaptations into humans, with the prolonged mission of creating immortality. Marks 2 children are both studious and diligent young individuals, prioritizing school and using modern technology to acquire necessary information from renowned scientists. Tom and Elizabeth are both aspiring engineers, passionate about solving the impossible structural and

mechanical problems, This family is high functioning and small confined spaces only inhibit the room for thinking and brainstorming, requiring large open spaces that can let the minds run free, catching every possible idea. Sleep for this family is a rarity, creating less of an importance on the sleeping quarters, and emphasizing the importance of quality family time spent together, amidst their busy schedules. The project must be a space that can accurately depict the importance of open spaces, A building components that will always have room and space for expansion, along with maintaining a connection to the natural world that will never be under-valued.
